The celebrations project – St Patrick’s Day

To celebrate St Patrick’s Day, we made a simple bouquet of shamrocks out of paper, with kebab sticks covered in straws for stems. It took all of 20 minutes to make and while it might not be the most sophisticated of craft projects, it served its purpose. Maia is now aware of a country named Ireland, knows that their patron saint is Saint Patrick and from now on shamrocks will remind her of this beautiful country.

It has also intensified our already pretty strong love of green.

Happy St Patrick’s Day!

  1. What about all the booze??? I thought thats why saint patricks comes every year! 🙂 hehe jokes aparts it’s a great idea 🙂

  2. Yep have tried the sauce and i like it 🙂 dunno yet about this year St. Patrick’s as i will be locked all weekend in the office (public holiday included)! Can’t even do it late in the day as i will be working an event and can’t drink. There’s only a small chance that I finish from work early and go for a quick Guinness in the afternoon (only if i think i deserve it).. stay well!

  3. Hello! Just linked your blog on making shamrocks with your daughter to my blog http://www.inanirishhome.wordpress.com. Your idea is simple, which is exactly why it’s perfect! May use it for my third grade talk on St Patrick’s Day on Monday. Slan. Kim
